Kierstyn has years of experience in Carpentry and Metalwork. She has been using tools from a young age and has transformed her love of drawing, painting, and woodwork into the physical craft for the stage. Kierstyn also has welding experience in Stick, MIG, and TIG welding.
Scenic Carpentry/Welding
Welded and wired parts of the wheel for the TXST Spring '24 production of Urinetown.
Weld Final: Choice Project. Created various flowers out of steel bar, washers, and hex nuts as well as various recycled scrap pieces.
Wired the URINETOWN and PUBLIC AMENITY #9 signs for the TXST Spring '24 production of Urinetown.
Scene Shop Supervisor for the AISD Summer Theatre Series '23 production of Mary Poppins.

Assistant in the building of the dragon for the AISD STS production of Shrek The Musical, designed by Kacey Wasson.

Various Projects
Here, Kierstyn has worked on various projects building and painting for productions. For the CPHS production of Frozen Jr., Kierstyn (Stage Manager) worked alongside Connor Yasi (Technical Director), in building the set. Similarly, she built portions of the set for a production of Something Rotten. Kierstyn was the Charge Scenic Artist for a production of You're A Good Man Charlie Brown. She also has experience in rigging and fly rail, even training with ZFX Flying Effects to aid in the flight of Mary Poppins, Bert, and Michael.
